Basically, we wanted to preserve the Open Source future of OpenRM, while at the same time ensuring as few restrictions as reasonably possible upon applications that can benefit from OpenRM.

The demonstration programs, being applications rather than libraries, are being distributed under the GNU General Public License.

If your organization prefers a non L/GPL license for either the subroutine library (RM Scene Graph ® or non-GPL versions of the demonstration programs), commercial licenses are available from R3vis Corporation. As the orginal code contributor, R3vis uses dual-licensing to meet commercial licensing requirements.
